Resources for Families in Need
The Lincoln County School District is committed to providing enrollment assistance, school supplies and instructional support to children and unaccompanied youth residing in temporary emergency shelters, hotels, motels, parks, cars, RV parks, or living with relatives/friends due to economic hardship.
If your child is in need of school supplies, hygiene kits, food, or clothing, please contact your child’s principal or MaCall Barnes (775) 726-3772 for assistance.
The District is also committed to removing barriers to the enrollment and retention of children and youth in homeless situations.
We can assist students and their families by helping with:
- Immediate enrollment and attendance in school while awaiting:
- A birth certificate
- Address verification
- Immunization records
- School records
- Keeping students in school of origin with district provided transportation in order to maintain educational stability
- Applying for free breakfast and lunch programs
- Timely transfer of educational records
- Locating and obtaining immunization and medical records
- Referral and connection services to community resources
- Linkage to university, community college and vocational/technical programs
